We’ve all heard the age old saying “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.” from the notorious boxer known as Muhammad Ali, and that’s because footwork is one of the key components that help you manage the damage in a fight, both what you dish out and avoid. In this article today, I’ll be sharing with you the Top 5 Reasons to Include Jump Rope in Your Martial Arts Training and my suggestions on several jump ropes to choose between purchasing so that you can start including this helpful practice in your training ASAP.

Below, you’ll see my suggested jump ropes to get you started. These ropes should serve you well and for a while if you take care of them. Each Rope also offers some specific benefits, you may even be tempted to get one of each.

BoxRope is designed from the ground up to be the jump rope for boxers. It’s easily adjustable and sports an elegant white pvs rope and comes with grip wrapping for the handles for the sweatiest of training sessions.

Beaded ropes are really good for beginners as the additional weight and sound of the beads provides great feedback to improve your jumping. This rope is also adjustable for your height.

Beaded Jump ropes are also great for learningTricks! The additional weight and often bright coloring helps you handle the rope well and learn tricks a bit faster than trying them on pvc ropes.

Crossrope is essentially the high-end jump rope that has all the bells and whistles for weight loss and cardio. It has a system where you can swap out the different weighted ropes into the handles.
